Dr. Matthew Schacht
Dr. Matt Schacht was born and raised in West Bend, Wisconsin. He attended the University of Notre Dame for his undergraduate education and, upon graduation, he was granted a position with the Puerto Center for Social Concerns, where he volunteered to help coordinate and manage programs to rehabilitate the homeless of San Juan, PR. Dr. Schacht then received his doctorate of dental surgery from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. He completed an internship in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, TX. After his time in Texas, Dr. Schacht continued on to a residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital in Florida, under renowned oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Robert E. Marx. During his residency, Dr. Matt Schacht was even nominated for and given an award for his excellent surgical skills! Dr. Schacht then completed a fellowship in Dallas, TX, concentrating on temporomandibular joint and orthognathic surgery under the direction of Dr. Douglas Sinn, a pioneer of these fields. Finally, Dr. Schacht obtained his board certification in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Dr. Matt Schacht’s surgical interests are dental implants, wisdom tooth removal, bone grafting, orthognathic (corrective jaw) surgery, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) surgery, maxillofacial trauma, jaw reconstruction and oral pathology. He currently maintains surgical privileges at Rose Medical Center, Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center, Swedish Medical Center, St. Anthony Hospital and the University of Colorado Hospital.
Dr. Matthew Schacht is also a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Association, Colorado Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Colorado Dental Association and the Metro Denver Dental Society. He is also a part-time faculty member at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Matt Schacht moved to Colorado with his wife, Ellie, a cardiac anesthesiologist and critical care faculty member at the VA Medical Center and the University of Colorado. In his free time, he enjoys soccer, tennis, skiing, biking and spending time with family and friends.
Dr. Brian Poore
Dr. Brian Poore is originally from the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. He earned a B.S. in Chemistry at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and his D.D.S. at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from both institutions. He went on to complete a 4-year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Denver Health Medical Center. He has been trained in broad scope Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He has particular interests in anesthesia, dentoalveolar surgery, implantology, management of oral and maxillofacial pathology, treatment of traumatic injuries to the maxillofacial region, orthognathic surgery, and reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Poore is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He holds certifications in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Dr. Poore is dedicated to providing well-informed, safe, and comfortable treatment for his patients. He works closely with his patients’ physicians, when warranted, and with his patients’ general dentist and other dental specialists to provide comprehensive care. He recognizes that Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is an ever-evolving, unique specialty that melds Medicine, Surgery, and Dentistry and is passionate about staying up-to-date with advances in the field.
Outside of the office, Brian is an avid outdoors enthusiast and enjoys many of the activities that Colorado has to offer.
